We all know how annoying it is to find an unwanted weed sprouting up between your plants that you have spent so much time growing and caring for. Unfortunately, weeds have a mind of their own and sometimes are unavoidable. However, there are a few different ways to get rid of them. Whether it’s by digging them up, spraying a DIY weed killer on them, or burning them, you can get rid of the pesky little weeds. Here are a few other ideas for getting rid of weeds in your garden.

  • Dig up the weeds in your garden by the roots to prevent them from growing back as fast.
  • Stay on top of mulching. Adding fresh mulch will help your garden to grow while suffocating the weeds to limit their growth.
  • If there are weeds growing throughout your lawn, you can mow them down with a push or ride along lawn mower.
  • Pour boiling water over the unwanted weeds.
  • You can also kill weeds by wetting them and sprinkling a little bit of baking soda on them.
  • Vinegar is another home staple you can use to kill unwanted weeds.
  • You can also purchase a weed killing heat gun to burn the weeds away.
  • Herbicides should be a last resort when trying to kill weeds in your garden. If you do use them, make sure they are safe for humans, animals, and the environment.
  • You can create a DIY solution to kill weeds in your garden out of 3 parts salt and one part water solution to pour directly on weeds.
  • Undiluted bleach can also be poured on weeds to kill them.
  • For weeds that grow in the sunlight, you can make a DIY weed killing solution by mixing 1 ounce of vodka with 2 cups of water and a couple drops of dish soap. Pour this mixture directly on weeds.
  • You can also use Lemon juice in a spray bottle to kill unwanted weeds.
  • Only water wanted plants, not the unwanted weeds growing between.
  • Make sure to only apply weed killing agents to the weeds and not your plants.
