America Recycles Day is celebrated on November 15th and is a great day to learn more about recycling no matter how old you are. Recycling helps to preserve our resources and our planet and is something that we can each add into our daily lives seamlessly. It’s important to teach children at a young age about the benefits of recycling. To grab their attention and make learning about recycling more fun, here are some kids home recycling projects to celebrate America Recycles Day.

Why not combine a teaching lesson about recycling with a teaching lesson about money? This DIY Water Bottle Piggy Bank craft encourages kids to recycle water bottles in their home and create a fun piggy bank to keep track of their money.

Help your kids create their very own flowerpots out of a plastic bottle you may have lying around your house. For this recycling project all you need is paint, scissors, a ruler, adhesive remover, and of course a plastic bottle.

Can you imagine how many crayons end up in our landfill a year? You can help upcycle old and broken crayons by making fun Earth Day recycled crayons with your kids. All you need is your collection of old crayons and a mold or baking pan of your choice!

Teach your kids how to make music from recycled materials you can find in your home. For this project, you need a cereal box or shoe box, a recycled paper towel tube, scissors, rubber bands, and crayons. They will learn the importance of upcycling household items and have fun making music while they learn!

These toilet paper tube snowmen are the perfect project for kids to learn about recycling and get ready for the upcoming holiday season. They can create cute little snowmen out of old toilet paper rolls. Supplies needed for this project are glue, white paint, paintbrush, paint pens, felt, and of course toilet paper rolls.
