Cozy Fall Crockpot Recipes

Does anyone else get excited for the that first morning where it feels like fall? There’s a slight crisp in the air and you start thinking about all of the delicious comfort food you can make and enjoy in the colder weather. Crockpots are a favorite appliance for many homeowners all year long. It makes preparing meals much easier, with a prepare it and forget it for a few hours mentality. Even though you can use a crockpot all year long, there are especially mouth watering recipes to make in the fall. Here are some of our favorite cozy fall crockpot recipes to try at your home!

Slow Cooker Chicken Apple Cider Chili 

Ingredients: 

  • Meat from 1 roasted/rotisserie chicken 
  • 2 cans (15.5 ounces each) Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained 
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped 
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced 
  • 1 bay leaf 
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped 
  • 1-1/2 cups chicken stock 
  • 1 cup apple cider 
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh sage 
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme 
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika 
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne 
  • Chopped apples, for garnish (optional) 

Instructions: 

  1. In slow cooker, stir together chicken, beans, celery, garlic, bay leaf, onion, stock, cider, sage, thyme, chili powder, salt, pepper, paprika and cayenne. Cook on high 4 hours or on low 8 hours. 
  2. If desired, serve chili topped with chopped apples.

Crockpot Pumpkin Spice Dump Cake

Ingredients: 

  • White Cake Mix 
  • 15 oz. Pumpkin 
  • ½ TSP Nutmeg 
  • ½ TSP Ginger 
  • 1 TSP Cinnamon 
  • 14 oz. Sweetened Condensed Mix 
  • Salted Caramel 
  • Vanilla Ice Cream 
  • Walnut or Pecans, optional 

Instructions: 

  1. In a Crock pot dump in white cake mix, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon and whisk. 
  2. Next dump in pumpkin and condensed milk and mix without mixing in cake mix. 
  3. Cook on high for 2 hours and stir. 
  4. Continue cooking for another 2 hours until cake has set. 
  5. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, salted caramel and nuts!

Crockpot Goulash Recipe 

Ingredients: 

  • • 1 Pound Browned Ground Beef 
    • 1 Onion Chopped 
    • 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder 
    • 1 Cup Beef Broth 
    • 1 29oz Can Tomato Sauce 
    • 1 14oz Can Diced Tomatoes 
    • 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce 
    • 1 Teaspoon Sugar 
    • 2 Teaspoons Salt 
    • 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper 
    • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning 
    • 1 Cup Elbow Pasta 
    • 1 Cup Cheddar Cheese 

Instructions: 

  1. Place browned ground beef into crockpot. 
  2. Sprinkle in chopped onion. 
  3. Add the sugar, Italian seasoning & garlic.  
  4. Open the can of tomatoes and add them to the crockpot. 
  5. Pour in the beef broth. 
  6. Add the soy sauce. 
  7. Now open the tomato sauce and pour it into the crockpot. 
  8. Mix well and cook for 1 hour on high. 
  9. After one hour, add the pasta. Uncooked. Then the cheese. Cook for an additional 3 hours on high. 
  10. Serve & enjoy!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops with Apples and Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients: 

  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 2 large sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 3 apples sliced and peeled
  • ½ onion diced
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions: 

  1. Label gallon size freezer bag with name of recipe, date and instructions.
  2. Place all ingredients in bag and seal.
  3. Place in freezer.
  4. To Cook: Thaw overnight in fridge.
  5. Dump bag in slow cooker.
  6. Place lid on.
  7. Cook on low 8 hours.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

Crockpot Pumpkin Chili Recipe

Ingredients: 

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil 
  • 1 pound ground turkey 
  • 1 onion chopped 
  • 14.5 oz. diced tomatoes canned 
  • 15 oz. pumpkin puree canned 
  • 15 oz. chili beans canned 
  • 15 oz. black beans canned or home cooked 
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar 
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice 
  • 1 ½ tablespoons chili powder 

Instructions: 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once oil is hot, add ground turkey and chopped onion. Continue to cook until ground turkey is crumbly and no longer pink, and then drain and discard any fat. 
  2. Transfer cooked turkey and onions to a slow cooker and stir in all remaining ingredients. Set crock pot to the low heat setting. Cover and cook for 3 hours.

Copycat Cracker Barrel Cinnamon Apples 

Ingredients: 

  • 3-4 lbs of apples ( Gala, Green, or Honey Crisp) 
  • ¼ cup brown sugar 
  • ¼ cup sugar 
  • ¼ cup melted butter 
  • 2 tbs of cornstarch 
  • 2 tsp lemon juice 
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract 

Instructions: 

  1. Slice and peel apples and add to the slow cooker. 
  2. Add the cornstarch and make sure apples are well coated. 
  3. Pour in the brown sugar, sugar, and cinnamon, mixing well. 
  4. Add butter, lemon juice, and vanilla.  
  5. Mix thoroughly. 
  6. Place the lid on the slow cooker. 
  7. Set slow cooker on high for 2 hours. 
  8. Once done stir and serve.
