It’s here! It’s here! It’s FINALLY here! Spring has arrived and with it’s arrival comes plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and enjoyment with friends and family. There are so many ways to celebrate the season of Spring both indoors and outdoors. We have been cooped up all winter long, and now it’s time to enjoy. Here are our top 10 ways to celebrate the first day of Spring!

Spring Cleaning

Once the sun starts shining and it’s warm enough to open the windows, it’s the perfect time to start your spring cleaning and there’s no better day to do it than the first day of Spring. To prepare yourself, stock up on the essential cleaning supplies, make a plan, and get to cleaning.

Break Out the Patio Furniture

If you have a patio in your yard, it probably has gone unused over the winter months. The arrival of spring means you can spend more time using your porch. So, there’s no better time to shop for new patio furniture or décor than the first day of spring.

Yard Work

Often times, after a long winter, there is a lot of yard work and maintenance that needs to be done. Whether it’s picking up sticks blown in the yard from the wind, raking up dried leaves, or re-planting a garden or flowers, it’s good to start early and there’s no better time than now.

Take a Walk

One of the best things about Spring is the fresh air and sunlight that comes along with it. Most likely over the winter months you haven’t been able to enjoy a relaxing walk outdoors in nice weather. Take this opportunity to get some exercise and some Vitamin D to boost your energy and mood.

Plan a Picnic

Grab some friends or the family and head out to a local park or even the backyard for a spring picnic. Picnics are a great way to enjoy the outdoors, great food, and nice weather on a spring day.

Pick or Buy Flowers

Flowers are an iconic symbol of spring. They may not be grown completely outdoors yet, but you can always stop by the local florist or grocery shop to grab a beautiful bouquet. Display them in a vase and help bring the beautiful spring weather indoors to your home.

Decorate

It’s time to break out the Spring décor and spruce up your home for the season. Spring means decorating with brighter colors, florals, and trendy patterns. Now is the time to ramp up your interior design skills and bring your home to life.

Plan Your Garden

Gardening is most successful when you start early and plan ahead. Even if the climate is not ready for planting just yet, the first day of spring is a great opportunity to start planning for this year’s vegetable and flower crops.

Visit the Farmer’s Market

Most local farmer’s markets start to take place outdoors once the weather warms up. They can be a great place to pick up fresh and local produce, explore small business’ products, and get some fresh air while enjoying your community.

Grill

Lastly, what better way to celebrate the first day of Spring then with delicious food cooked on the grill. Many homeowners choose not to grill outside all winter long because they don’t want to maintain their grill in the colder weather, and they don’t want to stand outside in the cold while they grill their food. Warmer Spring weather means it’s time to break it back out though, and taste delicious and healthy meals while enjoying being outdoors.
