The smell of cinnamon and spice, and the sound of crunching leaves is just around the corner. If you love the fall season like we do, you are already thinking about ways to decorate your home. One of our favorite places to decorate for the fall is the fireplace mantel or faux shelf mantel in our home. We’ve gathered some of the trending fall mantel tips and inspiration for 2021 to help get you started for the new season!

Write it in Chalk

Chalkboards are all the rage right now and what better place to feature one then your fall mantel. With a chalkboard, there is no limitation with creativity. If you like to draw, you can design a fall photo to feature. If you’re less artistic and want to keep it simple, you can write out a fall saying or simply just write the word “fall” in fun designed letters.

Create a Faux Mantel

If you don’t own a fireplace or mantel in your home, don’t worry we have a solution for you. Floating shelves make a fantastic option for a faux fall mantel. You can design the shelf however you want and put it above a piece of furniture or below a hanging television to make it a center focus in your living room.

Gather Materials from the Backyard

Decorating your fall mantel is extremely easy and can be cost efficient as well. If you don’t feel like spending a ton of money on trendy fall decorations from your local home goods store, you can find them right in your backyard. It’s as easy as going outside and collecting leaves, pinecones, acorns. Twigs, and whatever else you think you may be able to use with your décor.

Add a Wreath

Fall wreaths are a fun way to add some color to your mantel. You can purchase one from your local home décor store or even create one yourself. Take a trip to your local craft store and pick out your own unique fall wreath supplies to create a statement piece for your fall mantel that will have leave all of your guests speechless.

Greenery and Pumpkins

If you want to keep it simple with décor, you can always add a few pumpkins and greenery to your fall mantel. This will give the room just enough hint of the fall season without overpowering any of your other décor in the room.

Cozy it Up

If you want to add a cozy touch near your fall mantel, adding a basket of blankets or a blanket ladder propped up against it does the trick. Display different fall-colored blankets or different textures to create a cozy and warm look in the room. Not only will it look great, but you’ll have blankets nearby to curl up with when the weather gets colder.
